James Murphy pursued a ten year-year career in dance touring worldwide with the Nikolais Dance Theater when he became interested in Iyengar Yoga. He helped found the Iyengar Yoga Institute of New York and has been teaching there since it began in l992. He is the director of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of New York where he conducts the Teacher Training program. He worked closely under Mary Dunn and has taken extended trips to India to study with the Iyengar family. This study has given him a mature knowledge of how to link together important elements of the postures and invaluable experience in observing the Iyengar method at its source. James' keen perception and skills of observation combine with a natural talent for teaching make his classes rich and exhilarating. Since 1989, the culture of Bali has been another passion for James, who leads annual yoga and cultural tours there.

Workshop Policy
Full payment is required to reserve a space in workshops. Full refunds less 5% cancellation fee are given for cancellations made 3 weeks or more prior to workshop start date. Full refund made less than 3 weeks and at least 7 days prior to workshop start date a 50% refund will be given. No credits or refunds will be given less than 7 days prior to workshop start date for any reason. Iyengar Yoga Centre Indonesia is not responsible for any and all costs incurred for travel arrangements or accommodations related to this event.
